7 SUNGLASSES TRENDS YOU NEED THIS SUMMER

So it looks like we are going to have a summer, after all, travel doors are starting to re-open, thank goodness, considering English weather is letting us down once again. With or without blazing heat, the sun has been out and that’s all we need so we can wear killer summer sunglasses. As usual, we have all the latest eyewear trends stocked for this summer from your favourites designers, from Gucci, Dior, Oliver Peoples and a new summer addition Balmain.

Buying staple sunglasses which can be worn yearly and go with every outfit are always important, but being in style for the season is a factor to consider when making your summer purchase.

Don’t forget too, if you wear prescription eyewear we can add your prescription to your sunglasses – saving you switching between two pairs and contacted lenses.

STAPLE AVIATORS

As timeless as always, the Aviator is a season staple every year! Of course Ray-Ban will always be our number one brand when it comes to the classic Aviator, but as seen on Versace’s runway this season the Aviator is back in full swing designed in unique playful geometric, box styles which allow other luxury fashion brands credit on re-inventing the classic for 2021.

THE SLIMLINE SPEC

Leading on from the micro cat-eye, summer 2021 is allowing us to explore the slimline spec. A more understated day-to-day shape however with the same bold impact and slightly larger frame.

THE RETRO CAT-EYE

Returning for another season, the retro cat-eye is back. Leaders in this 1950’s spin are Valentino and Stella McCartney, shop their SS21 one range to add a seasonal edge to your summer wardrobe.

THE BIGGER THE BETTER

Oversized frames are back but with a difference to the SS19 – SS20 style. Although the vintage, oversized frame is still a look for the season, a look Gucci hasn’t let us down on, but for SS21 a geometric, colourful, and bolder style is here.

HALF MOON SUNNIES

Half-moon specs give us mystical vibes, but mix this with a tinted lens and they become a fashion statement. Fendi’s oversized half-moon sunglasses stole the show at their SS21 runway.

ANGULAR STYLE

Flattering and unique this angular shape was showcased on the Jacquemus runway for this season. This shape isn’t just a summer must-have but a style that can be worn all year round.

FUTURISTIC SHIELDS

A style inspiration lead last year by many of our favourite celebrities alongside Daniel Lee’s Bottega show. This is a style to watch for summer 2021 and one that will be for sure returning for 2022.
